WASHINGTON -- Congressman Morgan Luttrell (R-TX) voted against the continuing resolution in the House of Representatives today, citing the lack of border security measures as his primary reason for opposition.

In a statement released after the vote, Congressman Luttrell emphasized his commitment to his constituents and his promise to prioritize border security. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the "historical commonalities in Washington that have led to more of the same shortfalls."

"The continuing resolution put forth in the House today did not contain any border security measures, amongst other concerns," Congressman Luttrell stated. "For that reason, I could not support it."

Congressman Luttrell called for action and urged his colleagues to stop delaying the issue. He emphasized the need to address Washington's spending problem, lower the national debt, and prioritize border security funding immediately.

It is worth noting that the continuing resolution is a temporary measure that allows the government to continue operating at current spending levels when Congress is unable to pass a budget before the fiscal year deadline. However, without specific provisions for border security, Congressman Luttrell believes it falls short of addressing a critical issue.

As the debate on border security continues, Congressman Luttrell's vote against the continuing resolution highlights his dedication to fulfilling his promises to his constituents and his unwavering commitment to securing the border.

In a time of political division, Congressman Luttrell's stance on border security serves as a reminder of the importance of addressing the nation's challenges and finding common ground to protect the country's borders.

The House of Representatives will now need to consider alternative measures to ensure border security funding is included in any future spending legislation.
